Ralph Olsen (1928- ?
Born in La Tuque, in November of 1928, Ralph Olsen was destined to a life of many trades, a number of obstacles and many many joys.
He began his education at the La Tuque High School, and today you will still see him take the odd course at the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières.
He began working as labourer on the La Trenche power project in the late forties, and then as a hummingbird going from flower to flower he worked at a multitude of jobs - in stores, offices, selling cars of life insurance, and the list goes on to eventually settling down in a paper-mill.
He ran for public office in 1970 with René Levesque - and sank.
The wonder years of his life were the 12 years he spent in teaching. Today, although he is retired and fighting diabetes, he is operating a home for abandoned and wayward boys - and writing poetry of things he learned along the way.
